It might seem premature to delve into reflections on 2024, but why not give it a go? Last night, I went to Cheddar's with my sister for drinks and their famous spinach dip. I asked her, "Reflecting on the time from January until now, how do you perceive your achievements?" I was interested in expectations. Were you pleasantly surprised by what you've accomplished?
Reflecting on the events from January until now, I am struck by the unexpected twists and turns that have come my way. From the impromptu trips to vibrant cities like Las Vegas and Chicago to the exhilarating experiences through concerts, fairs, and festivals, and even the serendipitous discovery of a Women's Bible Study group on TikTok, each moment has added a unique flavor to my life's journey. These surprises have broadened my horizons and enriched my perspective on the world around me. It's fascinating how life presents us with delightful surprises when we least expect them, reminding us to embrace spontaneity and cherish every moment of the adventure.
This year has been transformative as I dared to explore new horizons and embrace opportunities that once seemed beyond my reach. The sense of gratitude for the journey so far is undeniable, yet a subtle feeling of incompleteness lingers. It's as if a part of me longs for the return of that creative spark that used to ignite my passions, reminiscent of the eager little girl within me who constantly craved more. Witnessing the accomplishments of my classmates from our undergraduate days has been truly inspiring, showcasing the endless possibilities that life can offer when we dare to step outside our comfort zones. In these moments of reflection, the magic of personal growth and self-discovery truly shines through, reminding me of the boundless potential ahead.
I recently watched 'Piece by Piece,' a film about Pharrell Williams' life. His unique perspective on music completely amazed me. It made me reflect on how artists put their hearts and souls into their work. This led me to question: what is my true passion? Writing? Being a good listener? I am still in the process of figuring that out.
Someone recommended that I make a list of activities that bring me joy. Blogging and sharing my thoughts and photography used to be at the top of that list. I am eager to explore new interests and reconnect with the things I may have drifted away from. Life can be unpredictable, but I am determined to rediscover my passions. Here's to all of us who are still navigating our paths. It's never too late to embark on a journey of self-discovery. Will you join me?
Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails.
